At the time we had the discussion, the engine wasn't even off the dyno, so I would not be privvy to the information of how the turbo reacted in the car . I was referring to that conversation and nothing else (again, I would not be privvy to the subsequent development work in the car, as we haven't discussed it ). I was just stating that on the day of the dyno run, you told me the turbo surged quite badly below 5k on the dyno with 97 RON and so had to have the boost capped below that point (as it did on the previous engine), but that it was much better with race fuel. I can only go by what you told me....
From what eminent turbo engineers have told me , the problem with the GT35 is the turbine design which is known to promote surge on 2.0litre engines, so the reason why I was so interested in how yours got on, was the fact that making the compressor even more efficient (which the GTX35 does with it's billet compressor wheel) was likely to make the surge worse.
If you were being cagey and not giving all the information, then you can't blame me for regurgitating the facts as you relayed them to me .
Mike I see no problems with the GT35 turbo in any way.
Now you're playing the semantics game . If it didn't surge, why didn't you give it more boostage ? You were able to when using the race fuel?
When I asked you outright on the phone, you said that it did below 5k. HENCE WHY I ASKED IF YOU WERE DISAPPOINTED WITH THE TURBO . Your reply was that you were assured it would be much better in the car - I can't believe you can't remember the conversation . Or are you just being deliberately beligerent?

Just to clarify for you. I never said the GTX35 surged and do recall the chat we had and texts you sent... and heres the best bit I'm pretty sure I was talking about the GT35 and how that was capped against the GTX35. You’ll have to move past this and agree with yourself, but I know what I have and your recalling something I don’t remember saying.
Have it how you want but I will say again I don't have a surge issue
On your question about boost you can speak to Mountune about that I'm sure there'd love to hear from you, but as already shown from my post Mark mapped a race engine not BHP numbers game as it was the torque their were more interested in producing.
You said GTX’s surge, I came on here to say I don’t agree based on my account, you can’t accept that for whatever reason. You then call me a liar which pisses me off no end and I think you abuse your position on here by being a trader and a moderator pushing your products. I'm pleased someone with Mark’s credibility and experience comes on here with his account.
All this thread has achieved in my view is you can’t accept someone else’s account and therefore you tell me what I should or did say, not true.
haha handbags lads. ive been looking at the precission turbo also, well 2 in there range, i might stick with the to4z yes, its just out its comfort zone on the drag strip, mainly the heat past 32psi
