  • Anyone from the UK been to Gatebil

A few members of the local group are thinking of going next year, I'm sure a couple have been off here and wanted to get a rough idea on the cost of the trip

Is it cheaper to fly than take the car and if anyone could do a rough breakdown of flight costs, ferry costs (if taking the car) and hotel prices near to where its held and anything else I may have missed

    Cheers

Quite a few alternatives other than flying, ferry or train over to France, ferry to Holland or ferry to Denmark. The ferry to Denmark is extremely boring and stupidly expensive Then you've got toll roads to remember as well.

Flying is nice and comfortable, but you'll need to rent a car to get there.

Quality Hotel outside Sarpsborg is a popular choice when it comes to hotels nearby:

Or another alternative is Rica hotel in Sarpsborg town centre:

Dont fly Ryanair, as you'll end up at a small airport the wrong side of the Oslofjord

I've tried pretty much all the different routes wether its by road, boat or plane between Norway and England over the years so let me know if you've got any more questions

You HAVE to bring your cars over.
We are all getting old, but to grow up is optional

That's airport/restaurant prices though. But yes it's fucking expensive over here..

Ask Jano about the scenery up north

Don't bring anything resembling a proper car unless you know "the right people" or you'll be stuck in a queue for ages and Fry your clutch.
