  • Definitive answer needed re group A wheels/nuts

Hi guys,I have a set of 18" RL7's in group A fitment with I believe group A inserts in them,do I need group A nuts to fit them on or do I knock out the inserts and use the conversion nuts I have in my garage ??? Inserts are like the ones on the wheel below

How can you be asking for a definitive answer if you only "believe" your wheels have Grp A inserts ? IF they do, then you 100% need Grp A nuts, as the holes are bigger on the Grp A inserts .

Well Mr Rainbum, the inserts are too small for the conversion nuts to fit into,so do I knock out the inserts (can you ?) and fit the conversion nuts ?

All Compomotive wheels have steel inserts . It is only the size of them that denotes if they are Grp A or not .

You can buy smaller sleeve type nuts for wheels with a flat nut recess, not tapered. You could knock a sleeve out, but it does not mean if you do, underneath will be 60 degree taper either.

                  Do you have GpA nuts?
                  Do you have standard nuts?
Do the standard nuts fit with the insert?

                      So you haven't tried yet
                      So they may be OK?

Whatever happens, nuts can be supplied if needed!

Lol, I'll keep you posted then !! I tried a conversion nut on them before they went off for paint and the hole was too small to fit them into.

i wouldnt knock them out myself as you could end up with a big hole that nothing fits plus you could end up weakening it
