  • back to 41psi

as some of you know i have wennys old engine in my escort well after playing around i was running about 34psi and the car felt good but on the way back from nat day after a bit of vigorous driving my actuator rod snapped, so got a new one slapped it on and with the half hole preload applied i took the car out for a test run and all i can say is the guage spins round to 41 and then holds 38 i think as im too busy looking at the scenery going past in a blur (this is what it was mapped for when wenny had the engine) All i need now is a set of new plugs and ill be a happy bot so will be contacting mike soon i think

it picks up well and just keeps on pulling but im going to look into getting rid of the launch controll and have a variable boost setting installed as im a bit nervous about running 41psi on a road/track car asit's too tempting to use all the time

kelv when i took it to reyland i had a missfire on no3 cylinder was running 37psi and it made 502bhp but it was all up in the rpm range as i had changed the cambelt and wasn't as accurate as i should have been but martin reset the cams to his timing and it picked up a lot better

I did see it up at Martins when it had a slight running hiccup, glad to see its all up and running like it should be now

              41psi sounds like a huge figure, I'm sure it's a rocket

it bounces past 40 psi on the collins guage but i havn't had chance to see what it holds yet as corners/traffic seem to come up very fast at the moment

wenny said it was a roller bearing t4 type hybrid thing but it looks like a gt30, i think it has a 102mm inlet to the turbine housing so is a lot bigger than a t4 from looking at them side to side

Is 41 psi not pushing it abit? Mind if it's been mapped for that it must be safe.
