it is the big supra diff and are cosworth owner proof
They run 900 bhp through the small supra diffs apparently the big diff is good for drag racing at well over 1200 bhp
It also uses the standard cosworth 2wd drive shafts

the supra diff is actually narrower the the standard sierra / escort diff so the standard driveshafts can be used. i can supply a fitting kit that allows the supra diff to be fitted straight into the standard beams. the only mod needed will be to the prop end. which will hopefully be supplied exchange in the nxt few weeks. thanks john. so basicly a bolt in bullet proof diff.
for all my tuning needs i use Turbosystems 07587188434. ask for tony
Very interested in this, was going to go jag diff but if this is easier. What effect does it have on the ratios? And what's the going rate for a supra diff?
This conversion is actually one of johns better ideas and I can assure you he has had many normally at least 3 or 4 per day This is because he is often relegated to the garden shed
It is a straight swap into a std beam and doesn't require any costly antique design drive shafts
Plenty of ratios available from the states and cheap
It will be well and truly tested and abused shortly with the aid of a young and abusive specialist test driver called fraser I have advised John that he now needs to think of a cheap easy fit gearbox for fraser

This looks a really good conversion - so are these diffs easy to get hold of and what sort of ratio do you use for road and track? (i know f, all about ratio's and all that)

to be honest they arn't the easiest diff to get hold of. neither is the jag or a ford 9" it's a dam sight cheaper and eisier to install. The ratio fraser it having is a 3:7 (standard cossie is 3:64) so slightly faster exceleration if in 2wd. You would need to find a 3:64 if using wheel drive. (4wd)

the reason i have so many ideas is, when i'm at Turbosystems i hear constant droning and hoovering sounds in my head i have to clear it with ideas to help the cosworth comunity.

These diffs are available here in most junk yards and Toyota forums, one of the Rallye guys here (John V. http://www.rallyrace.net/jvab/) does the conversion for the Merkur guys. Yes, a large selection of gear ratio available for cheap. Maybe you guys can hookup, getting something going...
