  • Tech Question - whats the best way of removing underseal / body schutz ???

    as above

i,m going to be removing all the black underseal on the floor of my car over the next few weeks back to the ford original sealer

whats the best way of doing it ?

i removed a bit with petrol and it can of easy enough but is going to take ages and ended up still having to wash it all of with a scotch pad and thinners

also do one at work and used thinners and petrol then a hot steam cleaner but still took ages

is there anything that can be applied to it to soften it so it just steam cleans of easy ?

    thanks gibby

i would say no gibby, it's just trial an error mate petrol or thinners is your best bet but you could try a wire brush on a drill

Do not time doing it. Find a set of outdoor 2 post ramps. use a powerful steam hot wash power washer. With tfr.

A member on here did mine and it took about and hour and I had no underseal left to do myself.

I wouldn't of done the underside if it wasn't for that as I hate cleaning underseal of.

I done mine at the weekend there

Never used anything apart from a steam cleaner and the heat just peeled all the wax oil of it back to the factory sealer with overspray look
