Pet insurance

just curious who you insure your pets with, mainly for those with dogs.

our current policy expires in just over a week so im looking around at different quotes, but obviously want decent cover to go with it.
we are currently insured thru Sainsburys on the 'option 2' package.

who are you insured with, and how have you found them?
fingers crossed we will never have to make a claim to really find out how good they are, but best to be safe than sorry.

We do ours through Petplan, they've always been good at paying out, but to be honest they are getting quite expensive now our doggie is in old age, and there's a lot of stuff they won't cover at all because of his age. The only real help it would be to us now is if he had to have another major op like he did last year, which cost 3 grand.

Yup i'm with petplan,, i'd recommend them.. And mines had 5k in vet bills

We're with Petplan as well. They were very good at paying out when we claimed. I would recommend them as well.

Edit to add, I've just checked my records and we've claimed £7,500 over the past 6 years and never had any issues. We hold the record at our vet for cats, as we paid just over £1,000 for 1 visit for one of our cats.

Errrr yep I can do pet insurance, we have a few different companies to use inc Pet plan.

Petplan for us also, we pay 18.99 per month for Molly

with pet plan it also depends on dog breed !

Our pup ate wallpaper paste before xmas last year and cutting a long story the vets bills came to over 1500 petplan paid out within two weeks including being closed over the xmas period ( as with most im sure you have to pay up front then claim it all back)

we insure 4 dogs with Tescos - was £50 a month a couple of years ago - £75 a month for all 4 now.

Dollar was with tesco very good and quick to pay up but you need to look at how much the cover is for.

Dollar was only £2500, though that would be fine when i took it out, But in the last 6 days of his life i spent £4700 on him trying to safe my little bud
