I think things will pick back up price wise in a couple of years ,so buying either of the cheap cars advertised on this site will mean you could have a couple of years of motoring then still brake even or make money when you sell.

this post prob will annoy everyone but it has to be said.the days of old fords rocketing up in value are gone and thats just a fact,they had to peak at some point as it was just getting ridiculous .the problem here is all the owners of these dont want to accpet this.example neil a and tbs there cars would have sold for thousands more 8 month to a year ago but look now one is 10k the other 11k both nice cars but both been up for sale for ages.but you still keep getting folk posting "its to cheap imo" if they cant sell it at they prices why would it sell at more (before anyone posts "folk think its cheap because there somthing wrong with"thats just not true the prices have just dropped).also take turboboy67 car for sale personaly i think its lovely and last year would have sold for 16k+ but its been up for sale for ages aswel.britain is a mess along with the world financialy and nobody has money for a weekend toy anymore.all car prices have crashed especially sports cars there are taking a hammering,theres evo x for sale for 13k these days.so the way it is you either kept your car or be prepared to a loss if you bought it when they were big money and thats a FACT.

Admitedly it was not the mintest needed a splitter and hockey stick but other than a bit of rust it was fine....

There are some exceptions as in mint low mile cars or ones that are highly modified but other than that I think 10k is good money for an old car

i agree the market is poor but theres some real piss taking buyers that want a mint car for silly money....all depends how desperate seller is but its a shame prices are low for such a fantastic car...and advertising on ebay would make even a vicar swear...the usaul bid buy dont turn up or do turn up then start haggling....then again there are also sellers that are trying to recoup what theve spent on it which as you say isnt going happen nowadays....i do see both sides but when it comes to selling cosworths theres so many timewasters nowadays gets on your tits after a while looks like you got a bargain though so well done

If this was all true how come s1 prices and 3dr prices are sky high? The only reason escos prices are a little low is cos so many are for sale, they will eventually go back up i'n my opinion, there are some bargains about but I am yet to see one that I would buy sell for under 13k, by that I mean mint bodywork, interior, the right mods and good miles, I doubt there will be many better than Neils come up for 11k, the only downside is the miles but if that had done 70k would surely be 12.5 to 13 k!

you only get what you pay for simple , meaning if you buy a 8,5k car by the time you get it anywhere near decent , it could cost 12k upwards then you have rust to deal with they arent getting any younger & there are a fair few dogs out there !

As said in your first post, you are gutted over missing the red car....that's because it was a good car for a cheap price.

These cars are not on the Market that often, you do get the cheap cars, like the ones on eBay lol, but not in a good condition and they will need money spending on them.

As for the Market for the cars then yes there has been a decline but there is always someone out there to buy the better cars at the higher price.

Like Gibby has said above, we will see what you can find for what you want to spend,whatever that is and then you can come and rub are noses in it lol.

You will get a car cheaper but how good will it be, have to have a good look over it,maybe go and see a higher priced car and maybe you can see the difference in the two cars.

i don't think it was too cheap. i thought it was about right for a car that the guy wanted rid off. i spoke to the guy with the p reg one before i bought the red one. there is a reason imo. that its still not sold.

There only selling cheap because some people are in need of money. If everyone put there car back up to the prices they were 2 years ago and didn't budge then they would have to sell for that price. But as it is some people have got desperate and dropped the price then a few more people have seen the price panicked and followed suit. They will be go back up its inevitable. Everyone who doesn't need to sell should take it off the market and wait 6-12 months, then the cheap ones will be the only ones available and sell.
