Can you put 2 names on a logbook?

If me and the misses were to buy a car between us and both put in 50/50, can you send off the logbook to show the car as being registered to us both?

A way round it if your not buying the car with cash would be to pay for half out of each account and keep proof that way if anything went belly up you both have proof that you paid a set amount of money for the car so no one of you is more entitled than the other....

Don't know how the legal process would go if it did go belly up bet it would be a nightmare to sort out

I was more trying to give Kim a little bit of security, as everything we own is in my name.
It's not as if either of us is going anywhere, just thought it would be nice for her to actually own something

Just put the car in her name then mate but pay for it out of your account and keep proof

It might bother you one day mate if you every spilt ( unless it's on finance ) but on the other hand if you have any depts put them in her name too

a log book is not proof of ownership only a registered keeper
it wouldnt stand up in court if your name was on it or hers means diddly squat you need a solicitors letter signed by all 3

3 solicitor

and 3 copys
1 each
thats the only way you have any legal ownership

No kelv you cant put joint names on the log book as tried to do it a few years ago with the range rover sport but they will only except one name or a company name.

my mate has his name and his girlfriends name on the V5. I've seen it he said he just sent it off like that and it came back ok

Matt, I didn't realise you tried to put your name on the logbook of the sport, probably lucky for you now that you didn't, lucky to break that link with her

I was sure I had heard of it in the past Paul, but wasn't 100% certain to how true it was.
I'm not so worried if I'm honest, it's probably going to go in Kim's name anyway
