hpi check

last night i decided to do a hpi check on my car, i already have two in my history file but after i did my text check for the fun of it and it came back with it being cat D its been playing on my mind a bit - especially as as soon as i got the car it was in at the local garage(the owner having owned 2 's) and was deemed never to have had a panel changed on the car or anything of the like!!
so the result, the mileage has come into question a bit, nothing that worries me, i do it all the time ...... mileage? er i cant be arsed to look so i'll guess - that kind of descrepency, no mention of being written off or stolen or anything bad, nope, just that my finance company have obviously not been arsed to mention to anyone that i've finished paying for it!!!!!!!!!!!!! like 3 months ago!!

my most recent hpi came back as having an issue with a previous plate change, basically the previous owner now has a finance agreement on a focus RS that now has his plate on. As his plate was on my Escort previously it is showing up.

Ive had a few cases like this when i private plate has history & it flags up a decent hpi check soon sorts it tho some cheap ones dont go into much detail & put the shitters in you But a decent one lets you see where the problem is & what car it was on

While we're talking about this, I took mine for a MOT and was put on the spot a little as the tester asked me for the mileage........... Which the AIM dash doesnt record

It keeps a record of the current odometer so he said that would be OK, which I suppose makes sense as its the current mileage of the engine since its rebuild

When we discussed it all, he kinda talked me round by saying it was easy enough to work out as I was being honest and you can cross reference the old MOT certs to come up with the exact history but would people be considerate of this?!?

I know I wouldn't be, doesn't mean others think the same......

i recently bought an M3 convertible on a 03 plate, but it was on a private plate.

the buyer told me the car wasnt a write off, however i done a few checks on it and it kept coming bk cat-d, also some of the hpi checks kept putting the plate to another car.

anyhow to cut a long story short once the private plate was of the car and bk on its original 03 reg the car come bk complety HPi clear

i used the hpi.com one which says its the original hpi check - very good, all old plates and dates of change etc, i'm quite satified its never been wrote off or owt
