Had a look at a few in the shops, Samsung is way too bright and I didn't like the way fast moving things seemed to have a trail behind them.

Panny was better but quite dark.

    Plasma is still better IMO

All in all quite disappointed and didn't think the picture was any better then my seven year old plasma if fact I think they where probably worst.

    Oh well that's £2k saved

i have the vt20 pana, had it when it was first released, last year summerish time.

i have a g20 and v20 also, all my tv's are panas found them the best, however if u got kids the 3d gives them headache sometimes and i found it aint good for kids up to 6 yrs old due to their eyes still making major developments.

What Hz was the Samsung you looked at Paul, if it was a 600Hz i'd be surprised if you had any trail blur.

Ive had my 40" LED 2 years now and its immense. I bought it when it was new out and havent looked back at all.

Was the 55" D7000 which I think is 800 hz

Could deffo notice it as it was a football game on demo In HD. Was the same on a computer game they had on demo at another store.

I've never noticed it on my 7 year old plasma.

Plus it was far too bright the colours looked alien like.

It was a great looking tv the frame was amazing.

I guess it comes down to personal preference I preferred the plasma screens and was suprised in 7 years they haven't got any better, I guess that's how they have put the prices down. I understand they still judge modern tv's by the standard set by the old pioneer kuro plasmas.

                  Paul,
The trailing image you describe can be eliminated in the settings. If you do a search on You Tube for reviews of the Samsung UE55D8000, they actually mention this issue and how it gives better picture with this particular motion speed part actually turned off (they even mention it when watching football of it being an issue) .

I'm waiting for the prices to come down further, but I am lusting after the D8000 version of the TV that Jules posted up: http://www.johnlewis.com/231218237/Product.aspx

I've researched it in great detail and it receives nothing but rave reviews where-ever you look .

I'd like the even better UE60, but it is over £3k .

Nordschleife, there's only two barriers to worry about - the ones on the left and the ones on the right .

I was sold on my panasonic (V10 series 42in) counteracting the trace left from fast moving frames!

                    Footballs never been the same

The Samsung has a store setting that puts everything to almost the brightest to show off. It's nothing like that when you set it up at home. I've never seen as good a picture as on my Samsung to be honest..
