    Can mag wheels be diamond cutted?a mate said he knew where a set was he's emailed the boy waiting on reply just thought i would ask you lads more sensible lads on here

    a lot of places wont do them craig due to the quality of the magnesium and how badly they corrode, thats why you see a lot of the bmw and vw split rim type wheels corrode to death and look crap.

      you dont want to be opening mags up to the air as it starts them deteriorating quicker apparently

        the wheels are in fair nick no big chunks missing etc REALLY wanting my 3 door on diamond cut mags with RS500 styling thanks for the tips ladmight get them painted see what happensNick when there diamond cut they have to be laquer'd would that not protect it against the elements?

          will protect them for so long as shud be done with a good scratch/ chip resistant laquer but its the process of getn them done wich allows air into the tiny pits once the magnesium is opend up, then all may look good but only for so long as wen laquerd if any air or tiny particles is trapped it will start to corrode the wheel fast. thats why you see so many alloys with corroded outers and laquer flaking off.

              i had a set of centre lock mags but hears so manys storys about wheels so was sold

                i used to have some oz mags as well but one cracked and couldnt be repaired properly and i got another off paul r which had already been repaired and went again so i would never touch another set
