  • Crank Position Sensor Gap - SHE RUNS!

Does anyone know what the gap should be on a Crank Position Sensor for Autronic SM4? Ive PM'd Mark Shead, but Im hoping to fit the new sensor tomorrow and get the car running again and am unsure if he will see/read the PM.

I had it running the other day, but was hard to start and was gapped around 0.6mm. We changed the gap to 0.8mm and the car just keeps turning over. I gapped it closer, but proper miss judged it and the lugs hit the sensor, hence Ive got a new sensor to be safe.

Any help please guys, really want the car running so I can bleed the power steering/coolant and see if the exhaust is blowing.

Thanks Mark It was running fine before and has everything that came with the engine I bought from Matt. Just had to remove the sump to change to a 2wd one and had to take the CPS off as it was hitting the pulley lugs. Put some washers and longer bolts on it to give a gap and had it running, but turned it off sharpish as dash clocks were out (Alternator won't work) and the down pipe was off. Gapped it again to 0.8mm and just keeps turning over

Havent checked to be honest, but I don't think there is. Petrol seems to be going through ok as it pops after a short while of turning over (Im assuming is unburnt petrol in exhaust) and you can smell it.

Looks like you have fouled the plugs, Try another set in it.

If you keep starting the car without driving will cause those plugs to foul, If we are shunting a car in and out of the workshop for a week we put in stock plugs.

It hasn't been started for 18 months and always just sits in the garage. She only gets started and driven and rarely started and not used, but Im assuming turning it over would of fouled the plugs. May get some standard ones just for testing then using the IK27's once I know it runs. What gap should the IK27's be so I can check that as well please Mark
