I never knew there was footage of Santos going into the crowd in Portugal,in the RS200.

        Awful.

        Excellent documentary though.

the thing with your typical foreigners is they love a bit of danger !!!! even if its gory crash pics or video you can guarantee your foreigner will have the offs.

now that fat portugeeze tit who wanted compo should have got backed over by the rs200 never mind run over, its understandable if people are too stupid not to stand where you can be mowed down but to say its the drivers fault is plain stupid,it was the organisers who let hundreds of thousands watch for free hence they turned up in droves with not enough room to watch safely and the idiots who were too close to the cars standing in dangerous places who were at fault.

anyway moving on.......................... if you liked group b and missed it you should of gone watching rally cross, the best fastest group b cars in the world doing battle against each other in 1 place made group b rallying look shit.
and while i'm at it audi this and audi that, audi dominated rally cross too like rallying until a bloke with a hot temper and a mk3 escort pissed on audis chips

            You're right there big guy

I went to British Rallycross GPs in late 80s

I vividly remember a certain Norwegian drive round Druids at 90' to the track in a 200.

There was also Finns [Alamaki ,Nittimaki] with 4WD 911s with wild power figures.

            Mental does'nt do it justice

did anyone clock the santos rs200 was essex registered,i should of rewound sky+ and checked the reg to see if the cars still around.

the funny thing with group b cars was they were banned but yet still rallied in the uk,there was drivers with rs200's and 6r4's out all through the late 80's 90's and straight through to today.
i remember seeing metro 6r4 clubmans for around 17 grand brand new in the late 80's,whats one of them worth now eh ???

I clocked that UK plate on the box tonight for the first time.

Never noticed it back at the time it happened though.

Santos RS200 was originaly built at Spooners, rebuilt after the crash and is still in Portugal (may have been sold last year)
6R4's could be purchased for under £10k, the owner of the local Ford dealership purchased thirtyseven.

                                Fantastic programme

Loved how much Vatanen seemed to turn into a kid when he was talking about them

I've thought this for a while now and I know it's a very simplistic view but why not have group B cars in todays WRC rallies

If the main reasons they were banned was because of long stages (now definitely rectified ), too many speccies (now rectified by charging like a wounded rhino for a ticket), and basic car safety (again now drastically improved) then in theory there shouldn't be any reason for group B not being brought back

Plus would make modern road cars more interesting if say 200 or 500 etc cars had to be built which "normal" people (in theory) could buy and or run.

                                Just an idea
