  • Restarting engine

    Hi
Had my escort stored for about 5,5 months now, is it ok to just start it right away ,or should I run the oilpump( with a scruedriver) first?
    What's common here guys?

Some disconnect the coil and unplug the injectors and just turn it over with a key to prime the pump for about 5 seconds. Others just fire it. TBH I think too many people are paranoid, just fire the fucker up and keep an eye on the oil pressure.

If you're gonna do it the safest way take the spark plugs out before you turn it over..

What's the point, the coil's already disconnected. People mother these engine's too much and they end up rebelling and dying!

The point is you're not getting compression with the plugs out and the "dry" bearings get less load before they get oil..

Imo things like these can help keeping them running for longer..

we remove the dissy and drive the oil pump with a drill if they have been standing sometime, after first removing the turbo feed pipe and pumping half a litre of oil back into the oil feed pipe and a few squirts through the turbo
it is the turbo and cams that can suffer

It's on the wiper stalk, push the stalk forward and that should stop the rear wiper arm!

Some people have different opinons on it ,if you want to pull off all the wires of the injectors and swing it over just to fill the rockers but usually their is,nt ever a problem!!!!
