  • gearbox question??

to fit a mt75 gearbox from a saphire into an escort can you get away with changing the front half of the rear prop to a saphire item or do you have to change the back end off the gearbox casing?

you might have to change the 3 bolts that come out of the 3 legged joint at the rear of the box depending on what size rubber donut you are using.

as long as you are using your full prop it will be a straight fit.

            Stu,

i have fitted numerous boxes over the years and never come across any differences in the boxes.

Dave fitted an escos box in a saff ,had to change rubber doughnut and make up a spacer, would of been easier swapping rear of box lol

lol, if you would of changed the 3 bolts you would not have had to.....has said above....change the bolts and use the right width donut and it will be a straight fit.

                Dave.

if you put a saf box in a escos you change the front half of the prop to a saf one with bigger doughnut
                        and vice versa for saf

its only the rear section between props thats different fronts are same bar different size doughnuts

and the out put flange on the escos box is long and has a different style 3 prong thingy with different bolts
