  • Transit connect towing?

Has anyone ever towed with a Transit connect?

I've got to get my camper up to Gaz and it just crossed my mind to use the SWB Transit connect I have?

    Is it rolling?

You could tow it with an A frame if it is

If you are using a trailer it may be close to the axle limits

I doubt the GTW of a connect would be big enough for a trailer with a camper on it, even if it is a shell.

I've never towed with one but the one i drive everyday wouldn't pull a fat kid off a doughnut I'm not sure it's towing weight is big enough??

I imagine the s1 would be heavier than a stripped camper ?

mine is a 75 model and its slow.

probably do the job Paul but think it may fail due to ithe weight.

Its not so much if it can do it its more if its legal. As a basic guide the unladen weight of the trailer, plus the weight of the car to be towed must not exceed the trailer’s maximum authorised mass. This, in turn, should not exceed the car’s maximum towing weight.

Thats the problem, im guessing it is quite a treck for you Paul? if the police or vosa pull you in you may get a prohibition notice slapped on you and you wont be able to move the vehicle, happened to Wenny and me a few years back and we were in a swb transit.
