Running problem ??

took my car for a run out last night n everything seemed fine. went to go a bit boost happy off the roundabout n it held right back then backfired. did the same in the next gear. as i was driving along it seemed to get worse not wanting to go on boost holding back but would cruise ok. as ive got a dodgy petrol gauge a thort mayb just low on juice so stuck 20 quid in at shell n was ok for first few mins but then started doing it again gettin worse n worse..... to the point where a nearly didnt get it home. but if i switched the ignition off n then restarted it would be ok for first couple of mins then just start doing it again. everything on the sec monitior seems fine only thing is the pump was making a struggling noise n was quite loud but couldnt of been out of juice??

is ther ought else it could b other than pump b4 a buy a new one?? cheers guys

does sound like the pump jakki, that pump came out of ginges car and was fine, niot saying it might not of failed but check the wiring and voltage at the pump under load first, did stand for 9 year that car plus you mentioned the fuel going up and down last night, there on the same loom at the back so could be a dodgy earth or wire contact

Hi, maybe worth testing for a failed spark plug too, if you have a weak spark on one plug, the higher boost maybe blowing it out.

Also if you've been washing it make sure there's no water got into your loom plugs.

Sounds like what happened to mine I put a new pump in and all was fine I got one from GGR. Think I was about £90 for there in tank warbo pump
