Has anyone done away with lift reverse?
I assume the R&D type boxes etc don't use it either?
Because my box is very high up in the car the gear lever was high but ok but due to the lift reverse mechanism there was alot of play due to the rubber bush inside the lever rod and I don't like that, so as my lift up reverse didn't really work, I think as its old and worn it would go in anyway whether you lifted or not, I have done away with the lot and shortened the lever, it's now nice and tight with no play
As far as I see it will not easily go from 3rd or 5th into reverse anyway so shouldn't be a problem
Anyone else done this?
Here's how it was

This is in reverse showing the lift pin would
make no difference

This shows the gear changes etc

Not sure if the height is perfect yet but this can be sorted with a sleeve when I know exactly where I want it
