  • Model addiction continues

Just bought one of these. I bought the Escort Cossie one a few weeks back and they are so much more detailed than the UT cars, even though you can't open bits due to them being resin. This one looks a beauty too. Looks like there might be more classic Fords coming too. Reminds me of the old days when I had one of these (in fact several of them!).

    Cheers
    Trev.

Let's be honest, who actually opens the doors and bonnets?

My bro had a silver XR2. Nice little motor

I do like the resin ones.

the good thing is its very simple technology so low volume production of rarer cars is within the scope of smaller home business' which is good news for us really.

Heres the one we all love:

The detail is really excellent, and they get them really spot on, whereas little things on the UT Cosworths are different, like they don't have a sunroof etc, whereas these are very very detailed. They're not cheap, but I've been getting them on E-BAY from a compay in Germany, and they're a lot cheaper than anyone else is selling them for. Although I've noticed since I bought mine yesterday they've put them up a tenner, still cheaper than the other sellers though.
And no Mark, at the moment the Escort Cossie is in red but the XR2 is just in white. They do seem to be getting more into the classic Fords though, I see they're going to be launching a Mk2 Capri soon.

I'm going to buy one whenever I see something I like because there's only going to be 1500 of each and they're bound to increase in value over time. I'm really into model cars and I go to a lot of shows and I've never ever seen a Mk2 XR2 in 1/18 scale.

                  Here you go mate.

I would be tempted to email them before you buy, because they may have got the price wrong, because I paid a tenner less than this, but it may be they've seen how much other people have got them up for and increased the price. Worth a try though.

Why are you buying from someone on ebay that are pretty much doubling the prices...!?

They are €44 direct from Otto Models, thats about £35.

I shall have to investigate this. Thought I was getting them cheap, perhaps not.

I think it'll work out cheaper buying directly even if postage is a bit higher.
I've bought 3 models from Otto Models directly (Escos, 205 T16 and Audi S2) all arrived perfectly and packed properly

Postage is fairly hefty but still works out less than I paid so worth a go. Thanks for that mate, didn't realise they had a site. I'll be looking out as models come out.
