  • Fuse box: fuse # 3 (KAT)

    Hi guys,
Trying to help a mate who's car won't start and is constantly popping fuses the second the ignition is turned on.

Fuse number 3 (10amp) is shown as KAT, does anyone know what this is actually for and what it relates to so we can start to look into the issue.

    Thank you

Has he removed and refitted anything recently? My brother done something on my steering column and caught a wire when putting it back together, which kept popping fuses.

No mate, he was driving along the M25 after having just been driven all the way to National Day @ Donnington and back

Try unplugging the lambda then turn the ignition on and see if it blows kelv I had a problem like this a few years ago but can't remember the fuze number and it was the lambda worth a try

OH FUCK WHAT WAS THAT NOISE

I'd start with putting a 20 amp fuse in, as that's what it's supposed to be!!!
            Cheers, Kev.

there is a conflict here if you look at the fuse ratings on the info sheet and then look at the fuse box cover

fuse 2 according to the info sheet is voltmeter and should be 3A and fusebox cover says 30A ??????

is it big and small turbo difference ???

the covers are for standard escorts, cossie is totally diff so just ignore the cover panel, there wasnt a cossy specific one
