been looking into buying one of these, going to view one tuesday.

ive had a mk5 GTi and liked it alot, just wondered if anyone had owned one, anything i should no about them good or bad

the one ive seen is a blue 3-door 06 plate, fully loaded with the new touchscreen genuine VW SAT-NAV and full heated leather, xenons, etc etc

    cheers

Fuel and road tax is the prob fella as one of the lads who works for me has one and is on about getting shot of , the sound Awsum thoughWe have a mk5 gti and I thought about it but now thinking a £250 remap for that ad will be more power than R32 so I'm told

Pre may 2006 R32 is still the cheaper tax bracket so look for one of them.
I owned a MK4 R32 for a year or so, loved it really, had no problems with it at all, apart from fuelling it. Tbh it's the most reliable car I've owned.
Just check that the haldex oil and filter were changed every 40k miles.

      Check out the www.R32OC.com
      Loads of info on there!

my golf gti had quite abit of work done to it, it was running just under 300bhp.

with the tax i thing the 55 and 06 plate ones are the ones to stick with, as already said the later ones are £400+ a year.

i personally cant see it being much different from my old golf gti, but i thought id ask on here as i no many members on here have also had many other toys

I would also try and get one with the optional Recaro seats, they are cool!

most of the ones with them seats seem to demand high prices, 10K+

must agree though them seats are the nuts

I test drove an '08 plate (28k) one on Thursday, and I was thoroughly underwhelmed by it. Which was a shame because I was pretty much ready to buy. It looked great and everything, but sitting in it and driving it just didn't do much for me. My friend has an Edition 30, which I think I prefer.

Also test drove a '55 plate M3 CS and an '09 plate Golf GTi (15k), and out the lot the GTi was my favourite, and that was only £1k more than the R32.
              $5?.. anyting you want

I had a couple of v6's over the yrs golf's. All I drove /owned as above reliable cars really comfy etc just cost a bomb to run and the performance is underwhelming as stated above for what it is should be rapid its just not... Just sounds great.

no mate mk5 . its still on ebay now, he hasnt removed it yet, its on there now for £7500 but if you read the add youll see it was originally up for £8500, then lowered to £7500.

                        gave him £6200

i love it, ill get some fresh pics up over the weekend
