Ford Heritage Center

As a surprise for our group Jo arranged a visit to the Ford Heritage Center on our way back to Belgium after Ford Fair.
When we got there my first thoughts were "We'll be in and out in 30 minutes!". 2,5 hours later we REALLY needed to go or we would miss our boat
Due to bad experiences in the past they don't allow a lot of visits anymore so we considered ourselves very lucky!
It's not a museum which meant we could take the plastic cover off whatever car we wanted and have a proper look around
The guys who work there are true Ford nuts as well and had a story to tell about every car there. Top guys
It really was a great experience and for me was even more fun than Ford Fair

Think they have a rally-version but don't remember seeing any other mk2 Escorts.
Blue saph was last to come off the production line.

I think manufacturers like BMW etc have more impressive collections (in more impressive museums) than Ford But at least Ford UK has got a collection. Don't think Ford Belgium has 1 heritage car of their own

No you can't book an appointment.
If you would turn up unexpected they would kindly show you the exit I'm afraid.
They used to do open days but after some bad experiences with treasure hunters they no longer organise them.

some lovely cars in there but im surprised by the ammount of dust on some cars that seem to have coveres on,

the gearstick gaters do seem to suffer on the escos donr they, nearly all in the picture are in tatters

Ford is about 1/4 mile away from me I can see fords from my kitchen window. If anyone ever pops down let me know and we can meet up if you wanted to. They do open days for the staff who work there and it's 2 tickets per staff member.

The black RS200 is a 'bitsa' put together by Ford apprentices used to have Texaco livery, recently had an engine build and an overhaul.
