  • Whats this worth?

This is not a "for sale" post.

I have this Arcade machine and wondered if anyone had any idea what I should list it for on ebay?

Its a Space Intruders game, NOT Space Invaders but basically the same game!

Has anyone any idea what age this might be?

Its a black and white TV screen that has coloured strips to make it look colour.

    Biggest problem is...its not working

We have had it for maybe 25+ years and has been great entertainment for most of them. It hasnt been plugged in or used in the last 10 years. I have recently tried it and the screen does not work, sometimes you get lines other times nothing. I think its just the screen thats not working.

    What do you think?

If you where closer I'd have a look at getting it working, I've had loads of these video game cabinets in the past.

There are loads of varibles as to what is wrong, from the PSU voltage, the monitor pcb, the game pcb. Faults can range from dry solder joints, previous owner bodging, water damage or something simple like a connector not on properly.

Value wise as it stands not working it might not even make a ton on ebay tbh as its a cheap copy of the Taito Space Invaders which is the one that everyone wants. Its a nice looking cabinet thou and condition looks good, It'll probably end up being gutted and used a mame machine. I had a French copy version of Space Invaders in cocktail cabinet form and it had been converted to play track 'n field

If you can get it to my office in Cheshunt I'd be happy to spend some time fault finding on it FOC

A friend of mine spotted this thread, and emailed me about it, so I joined give you some advice.

Good advice from the previous post.

Price wise as has been said £100 is not far off the mark, especially if the buyer is close to you.

Age wise 1970's I would guess.

them machines are worth far more unless rare if yer chuck it in a van and do delivery included or offered subject to distance etc,i have sold these sort of machines and its a 2 man job shifting them and a killer up flights of stairs
age wise i'd say very late 70's to very early 80's is a damn good guess !!

thanks for this info, it will help me to decide what to do with it.

Rippers: thanks for the offer to take a look at it too, it would be great to get it working again!

May just stick it ebay and see what happens I will let you know if I do.

            Thanks, Gav
