If you have one already then you are half way there, all cars over here hold there price, the only issue is that you are going to bring it over just too sell and make a profit then an escort cosworth has a very limited pool of purchasers. therecare a few rules that have to be adhered too. The place to look at if you are going to import a car too oz is dotars website, lots of info there.

I sold mine before emigrating a year ago, the costs are massive, shipping is the least expensive part! customs and clearance duties are huge and you then have to put it through compliance if I recall correctly.
I owned mine for over 10 years and loved it and the scene in the UK, met some great friends at shows and on here but I don't miss the car at all, I bought a V8 over here and love it.
I have never seen an Escort over here so they are pretty rare and seem to be advertised at over $60k but I don't know if they sell.
I can't remember the exact cost but it was somewhere over £5000.00

Was thinking the same Carlo, well about the costs not about moving lol.

£5k is not that much to get the car over there if the values are that high over there.

                      Dave.

Things are definatly slowing down over here.. the work we do has hit a brick wall I know companies that have heaps if not all there rigs parked up, so I would say if anyone was thinking on coming over try have a job sorted before hand as I'm seeing a lot of folk finding it hard to get jobs

cars as a whole are a lot more expensive here in OZ, i paid 108 thousand dollars for a 2009 GT-R i am now in the US on holiday and they are around the 55 thousand dollar mark here the dollar in OZ is just over parity. 108 K in quid is 70 thousand so pretty expensive?

I have to be honest, i have an escos myself, bought it here. But if i waas going to emigrate here now Knowing what i know now, i would importa car to sell on, just not an escos, something like a Big BMW M5 or Audi R8 as they are relatively cheep over with you guys but you could makea tidy profit over here on it. Or use it to offset the price of an ossie type car, depends where you are going to move as well, whatever you import i would advise one with aircon.

Just check out carsales.com.au for an idea of how much you would pay. Also you may need 2 cars over here, nearly everybody does, so it may pay to import 2 from the UK one for you and one for the missis.
