  • Best stage 3 spec?

With the series 1 nearly finished. I'm then going to turn my attention to the saff.

I'm prepared to do a full engine build, as I don't know what's wrong with it.

Current spec is standard engine , t34.48 with 247 shaft. 55lb injectors and 500 cooler.

I know a lot of people suggest staying as I am but I didn't know whether I'd benefit from a pair of cams & Verniers as well.

    Regards

I love that spec for the road a light play with the head and a nice inlet cam would make it awesome.

Over 400lbft torque and 385bhp is no problems and they really are sweet

And better power to weight ration than a standard 911 Turbo ( 996)

Just out of interest, is this a 205 or 200 blocked engine?

Thanks Andy, still don't know what to do when my car needs an engine rebuild. Source a 200 block and 4x4 head or use my own original 3dr bits.

I wouldn't hesitate to use a 205 blocked engine. Mate of mine was 450 plus on his 205 block.

Only reason I'm on a 4x4 engine is that when my mate killed my original engine. I found the 4x4 engine at a cheaper price than a 205

                    Standard cams, 0.48 a/r T34, 803s, 7.8:1 c/r, RS500 intercooler =

                    +

3.36 diff from Granada Scorpio and 6° rear beam,

                    = 172mph top speed and 12.64 standing quarter (115mph).

THE BEST ROAD CONVERSION EVER. THE END.

The only thing I'd do differently now is the rollerbearing conversion.

Thanks for that input mike. To safe cash ill probably keep my T34.

I ran a 12.7 on stage 3 so pretty equal there.

Stock engine it is. What HG and head bolts did you use on that spec?

                      Cheers

At the time I was on a Grp A with standard bolts and lived with having to change it every 6-15k miles (depending on how many track days it did in a year). I'd definitely long-stud it now for a fit and forget engine along with some modern injectors, but the basic spec would stay the same.

In fact, you've got me want another Sapphire again LOL.

Would you long stud with a Wrc HG? As I was also going to fit pistons with valve cut outs invade I ever decided to change spec.

Mike, you know it makes sense, more of a 'drivers car' and can still get the kids in

Yes, just to make it 100% reliable .
