  • Help with Saph inlet manifold

My brothers 4x4 has developed a fast idle :1800 rpm.
Told him to check for air leaks in manifold, he found no3 inlet stud missing and a piece of gasket missing as well. Did a leak check on the area and sure enough its sucking in air.
The question is , can the manifold be removed and a new gasket fitted in situ
Ive never had to change a gasket with the engine in place so anyone give me an idea if the job is do-able.

Yes, maybe a good 30 min job. That was on mine when I swapped over to the 4x4 cover and a tighter area to work with around the inlet.

    *edit

Sorry, noticed you meant on the actual head itself and not the cover. Has the stud snapped off???

      Thanks.
He doesn't seem to think its snapped, but is now attempting to remove the inlet.
