If you think just the younger ones don,t know what they are, you should come to OZ. Unless you are a 37 year old POM then you have no chance. If its not a V8, its not interesting or loud enough. The only chance you get is with the younger Rice happy guys. Or late 80,s GTR guys. They only know about the Sierra Cosworth as it smashed the arse out of them in the 80,s in Australian car racing series, before they banned them, on a technicality. Did the same with the GTR,s. When they beat them as well. Thank god Nissan is coming back in in 2013. cant wait.

I think the escort cossie will have the same appeal in 20/30 years time. It is at the end of the day a classic along with other fords.

Last night i was out xmas shopping and you have this stand where you pay a fiver and you could win a supercar. So the bloke does his sales pitch to me and i say "ive already got a supercar" he said "what you got then" and i said an escort cosworth. He said to me that they are stunning cars and would perfer that as a prize then what he was trying to flog.

In the past i have young 20 year olds coming up to me saying i like what you have done to your car

I took the car into work a couple of weeks ago and the buzz it caused i had about 6 people knock on my office door to see if i could show them. Even the bloke that runs the site come over to see me and said how lovely it is and wished that he had one back in the day.

                in a nut shell, yes.

I have said this a few times, people do not see them anymore as they are all locked away waiting for the massive price hike like the RS500.

I had two 18 year old kids in a done up Clio ask what literage it was and who did the body kit!
The 18 year old admin kid at my work said it was "shit". I questioned him and he had no idea what the car was, not even when I said cosworth, blank look on his face.

Everywhere I go, I get "you don't see them anymore" I called Ford once, and the guy on the parts department said are they still on the road? Cant be worth much!!!! That is Ford!!! When I go in I am so sick of them knowning nothing I inform them it is the second best car Ford ever made (Second to the GT40).... OK you might put the RS500 in that as well but I didn't want to get picky.

We have to use these cars to educate people... because in a minute, my generation (I am 28) will grow up and be in a position where they don't want a car like this anymore and people in the next generation are not going to have a clue what it is!! Let alone pay massive money for one!

                So in blunt, yes.

Interesting comments there, the first time round in the late 90's I took the ESCOS to my office in the periscope workshop and even back then it was assumed it was just an Escort with a fast engine and a body kit
I think the rarity of these cars and the fact there not driven very much hence not seen out anymore re-enforces the belief there non left
