  • " If I could turn back time " would you go ??

So if there was an island you could live with only 1960 & 70 cars, no tinternet, PC's and mobile phones low traffic levels ......a land stuck in the 60's and 70's era would you live there.

Ive always though I was born too late....I hate the modern world.
Would you live on such an Island
I cant decide so may nice things now to give up but what a slower life style it would be. The age of the MK1 & 2 RS2000, E-type Jag etc uhmm

What car would you have....remember same sort of social background as you have now so .........

No, but when I'm just about to pop my clogs (hopefully having lived to a ripe old age), I would like to relive my life from the age of 18 onwards (with all the knowledge I'd picked up each time) over and over a la "Ground Hog Day", with a "Sliding Doors" twist (just so I could see how each path chosen affected my life (by changing the choice each time) to see if it ended up the being at the same point again or different. Just so you can see all those "what if's" ).

Yes i would go back much better place & times to live in. What date 17 May 1964. Its the date i joined a rockband & had a purple patch for 5 years, incredible days.

Imagine No computers & Petrolheads worried about there cars not living on the net. No max speed limits every journey a chance to see what she would do. Women wore sexy clothes not Mr Men tights & Jeans beats me how you guys fancy what i see waddleing around today. Real freedom for the Young not the namby pamby, safety consious rules that blight everything today. On the plus side the youngsters dont know just how much better it was so dont really miss the good days.
It was short lived though by the mid 70's the Arabs had sussed we were easy meat & every thing gradually went down hill.

That was the 60's i was thinking about. I was a 60's baby boomer so the 70's were my informative years. They seemed so much more peaceful than nowadays

I do live in that era, its called Australia. We are so far behind here is just tragic, lots of 60/70,s cars, mostly amarican muscle, t,internet is slow as F, Mobile phones only work in the cities. Dont even get me started on the music. I should be so luck, lucky, lucky, lucky. When i first arrived here in 2000 i thought i had gon back to the 80,s. Not much better in 2013.

I was more thinking of Triumph TR 5 & 6, MG's ,Holbay Rapiers, etc.......the sort of car you might have been able to afford.
I do miss seeing the RS2000's Morris Oxford's Austin Cambridge's etc. Cars that had some character. I also think the Internet has made our lives more complicated and not easier
Where would we be now without or mobile Phones
I miss seeing old British bikes as well.
