450hp engine spec question?

A friend of mine want to build a 450-500hp engine.
Which.spec would you recommend?
He has a std block with 10000miles to start.

More to the point - what budget and what transmission does the car have?

If a 4x4 on a standard transmission, I'd be going for a CR Turbos T38 (which keeps the torque around the 370lb ft mark at 27psi) and will achieve the 450bhp figure. To get 500bhp requires the transmission being upgraded and a completely different spec turbo.

I will supply the engine with alternator, power steering pump, turbo, manifolds, etc and the Autronic management with a specially made loom from Ryan Looms for £6500 so it's ready to bolt in and drive basically. You would just need a 4x4 sump as mine runs a 2wd one, but you can sell the sump for £150 odd

Ideally a decent spec gearbox (I would use the Pete Doughty box) and front diff strengthening plate is all I would do rear diff if your gonna do launches
