  • Stack dash install let me see yours

Im weak & gave in to mike raindbums constant pm's asking me to buy it as he is skint after christmas

Its in a rs turbo binnacle but will be going in my mk2 i only need a battery light and two indicator dash lights with full beam light. oil pressure is in dash & oil light is a pressure gauge as its mk2 rs2000 dash so will be running stack oil pressure.

Any pics of how you set the speedo up & how & what you mounted the dash in like a sheet of carbon etc.

    Just looking for idea's

How well do these dash's run with the older cars, presume if you can mount a sensor in the car you'll be able to use these dash's without any problems?

Just interested as something like that would do me nicely in the MG

You can get a sensor for just about everything and then just wire it in as a standalone unit

The speedo sensor set up is fairly easy. To begin with I made a bracket which was secured by the nut for the track rod end. It picked up off my 12 bolts for the brake bell.

That was fine till I broke it taking the disc of one day They are over £100 from stack!!

Got a new one from ebay, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Stack-Whee...item19d82afeac

Although I wasn't happy with it there after that, so got one like this.....

                      http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SPEEDO-SEN...item3a7c6d8ff9

NOT the exact one, just like it. As these fit on the 4x4 speedo drive.

All you do is wire it up to an ign live, earth and the signal wire goes to the stack.

adjust pick ups and wheel circumference on the stack till it matches gps speed (there's an ideal start point but forgotten it now!!)

Of course it will be a different story on the mk2 and mg though.

You can have the stack type ones anywhere really, mounted near anything that spins round - prop, drive shaft, hub.
                      Cheers, Kev.

                        - I think it was the other way round - watch what you say, as I have black-mail material on you .

Sadly, the money went straight to the customer who originally bought it, as the money would have been nice LOL!

FYI the ST8130 does RPM, fuel level, speed, odometer and tripmeter, oil pressure, water temp, oil temp and battery voltage.....
