Gutted ...Might have found the reason my race car didn't work last year!

My 2012 racing season was ruined by an on boost missfire and water loss that I just couldn't find ( I presumed the coolent was pressuring up when warm) the engine is out for an expensive rebuild to sort it....
Tonight whilst cleaning the water stains off the header tank I've only just gone and found a crack in the underside of it Argh!!!!!!!

when racing by the time I got into parc ferme and got the bonnet open the water had dried up on the hot tank leaving just stains but around the coil / map sensor was still wet..

very true paul, although the bottom end (crank/ bearings but not pistons) has only done 800 miles lol

I will email martin to update him with what I've found just to save him scratching his head trying to find something deep in the engine!

the rebuild is still happening tho as the new T38 going on necessitates a spec change

i had a bailey one yrs ago and that cracked along the top edge,you could see from inside that it was where they had scribed it to fold it,it was obviously a week point from then on
