anyone owned a e39 bmw 530 or 540?

    anyone owned a e39 bmw 530 or 540?

    hopefully next week or week after im going to get a new car to replace my tired st24 ive had for 4 years

    after speaking to a few people german is the way to go but only have a budget of 1500, and these bmws seem to be a hell of a lot of car for very little money

    the 540 was my first choice mainly becuase of the v8 but heard some horror stories and the 530 would be my next choice

    just wondering if anyone has had either and what they like for a daily car, id be looking no later than a 2001 model pref black or blue but trying to get one thats got as many extras as possible lol, manuals seem rare as well but out there but dont mind auto being a daily

      escos is sat on drive under cover, if i can find the bulk head sound deadening in one piece i can fit the loom lol

      evo ive put on hold as ive just moved house, and im also decorating a 3 storey house for a friend so im rushed off my feet, and my only car which is my mondeo the clutch has started slipping very badly so need to get a replacement thats gonna be a good one hence looking for bmws, theone i wanted ended today but the twat removed it from the listing ashe took a deposit yesterday, even though i spoke to him and asked if i could put a deposit down on it and he said no just let the auction run, so im not too happy today lol as cant find another one for the price with a good spec

        My mum and dad have a 523i which I use for work and to be honest, its a really nice drive. So well built, they say the E39 is the last of the really over engineered BMW's.

        It is comfy and nice to drive, but not very quick as you would expect for a big car

        Over all a great car

          yeah been looking at 525 and 528 but rather have the 530 just for that little extra bit of poke lol

          540 a no go now due to gearbox issues where the straight six seem to go forever as well

          just cant find anything now as it has to be black with cream leather lol
