Tech Question - Broken bonnet cable

First can you still buy them and second how the hell do you open the bonnet now

Lucky I got a spare off someone on here. Still not fitted it yet! And as for bonnet, I think you could try removing the bumper to give you enough access to the bonnet catch.

They are the same as a normal escort one mate aye, 1667342 Ford have them listed at £41 the prices of parts has shot up drastically over the last year.

Right I managed to get the bonnet open by grabbing the cable under the dash and pulling it, but on examining the cable the wire isn't snapped but the black outer covering near the orange pull tab seems to have stretched a little.
Not sure how that's happened

Does a 95 MK 6 cable fit it looks the same ?

They are different the MK 6 is the one on the right !

Strip down your bonnet catch and give it a good clean up too as they can sieze over time leading to problems needing 6 million kilos of force on the wire to open them!
