  • Which is best European Breakdown cover

    Hello all

I'm going to the Holland show in a few weeks and wondered which company you guys use for european breakdown cover.
What I am looking for is a company which can bring your car back without saying to the value of the market value of the car.
Been looking around and not any I have found will except an agreed valuation.
Reason is 2 years agao my fuel pump went on the way home and needed to get car back from Holland but everyone said my car wasn't worth the cost of bringing it back after calls to Mark Barber and with the garage/service I used they agreed.
I don't want the trouble again to be honest.

    Any ideas guys

    Thanks

    Darren

    Keep RSing

The AA stitched me up a few months ago when i went to Brittany for a long weekend in the Cosworth........ i checked my terms and conditions i had with them and it said full Euro cover was included and that i needed to ring a couple of days before going to notify and activate the cover. when i rang they said 'oh sorry' the terms have changed and you now have to pay on top for Euro cover so i had no choice but to pay their extortionate premium

Did some research when i got back and next year i'm ditching the AA and going with German company ADAC ....... a years cover with them won't cost me much more than the AA charged me as a premium for a weekend in europe and ADAC will cover me at home and gives me everything while away and being German their much more efficient than any of the UK outfits

I know people who are with them and recommend them highly

I always used the AA and had to pay a fee for each trip. I actually told them with one of those feedback jobbies when they ring you up that they ought to offer this at renewal (computer says no apparently)

Luckily i've never had to test out how good they are yet but if its any consalation I was at Le Mans with a chap who had a 60's mustang that grenaded its gearbox near Rouen and needed a complete rebuild. The AA took his car to Paris as that was the only place that could fix it. They took him to the campsite too. He got his car back on the sunday night and even arranged to meet up with him a few miles outside of Le mans so he could drive it in himself as that had been his dream when he was rebuilding it.

I always remembered that as I thought is was above and beyond a level of service that was expected.
