  • Range Rover Sport Suspension Fault

    I own a 2008 RRS HSE TDV8.
As title says, when the suspension is in normal mode and select access mode the front begins to lower then as the back starts it immediately stops and goes into raised mode, and says suspension fault then asks you to lower when you are clear of the obstacle.
The only way I can get the car to lower is to drive above the speed which automatically lowers back to standard.
There also seems to be a height difference of about 10-20mm between o/s to n/s.
Then tonight I had a new one which a red warning came up on the dash with the message "fault do not exceed 30mph"
Then when I returned home the front was sitting at 830mm (floor to arch) & rear was 900mm.
Just wandering if anyone could shed some light on any of theses problems I have or advise where would be best to take it in the Glasgow area?
    Cheers

We had one on hire when they was brand new (Disco) and it was lovely, good to drive etc.

But seeing my brothers and others in his company it makes me question them.

He has had nothing but problems with it, they thought the EGR valve was screwed on it as it was lacking power. Turns out to be the turbo.

What I will say about all of theres is they get used properly, pulling trailers, offroad, constantly caked in crap. They also spend alot of time on the motorways so it is a well used vehical.

I think if you took all the computer crap away from it, they would be rugged as you like.

At the rear wheels you will see the sensor. (on the front side of the arch) Have a look and see it has not been damaged or has popped off. Also look at the wiring for damage and it could be water within the sensor/connector.

You need to get a Fault Code Reader (FCR) plugged in to check the fault codes. I have a D3, and love it to bits. But saying that I have the tools to work on it, and have a BBS MSV2, which allows me to read the fault codes, reset them and change the Car Configuration File (CCF) etc. If you're on the RRS forum there are guys with multiple vehicle licences for the MSV2 which could read your fault codes and give you some direction. As said above, sounds like a height sensor issue.

                              Good luck.

                              Cheers
