Ok, i've found an old Escort 1.8 diesel with a Cossie body kit on it. The rear quarters and front wings are metal and are in good condition. My question is, would i be able to remove these panels and use them on my Esco? or will they be different dimensions meaning they wont fit? Could they be modified to fit my Esco? or should i ust get my coat now cos im being an eejit?

Depends if they are genuine and if they had to be modified to fit the normal escort initially

the front wings could be used if genuine, the rear wings would have been big hassle to fit to the oil burner and would be even bigger hassle to fit to yours, check the rear wing to bootlid height without the spoiler it should be an inch higher(the wing)
more to the point why do you need to change all the wings on yours?

If it's a cheap old smoker it may be worth buying to sell the wings (if they're genuine)

Checked the bootlid area and it sits like a genuine Escos bootlid. I need rear quarters because of rust.

I've taken a few measurements from the possible replacements and am away up to my garage to check the measurments on mine. The fact they were metal attracted me to them, they are advertised as genuine metal Cosworth panels. They look genuine enough and the car is cheap. The whale tail is a poor replica but the lower spolier seems ok as well. I'll let you know once i've been up to mine.

                    Found me out, damn. Lol'

I measured the panels on the Cossie and they aren't the same as the others. They seemed to be 10-20mm out in every direction i had measured. The fronts were the same though but i decided against it for £700. Ah well, the hunt continues for good rear quarters or its a long summer of sandin' and fillin'!!!
