Knocks when cold, but when its up to temp or around 50C the noise clears completely. Oil pressure continues to be 65psi when cold and holds 30psi when hot. Oil level has never changed. Its a 200 block on 0.5 Mahle pistons.

No big issue at this point in time, if it needs a rebuild it'll get one

Sounds like tensioner pulley to me mate and not engine related.

But always hard to tell from a video.

Tensioner and water pump were suspect, but I've swapped both over to see if anything changes but it doesn't. Can only think piston slap because of the way it all changes when warm.

Could be a small amount of little end tapping there, especially if it goes away once its starts warming up.

Well ive had 2 yb's that done exactly that and both times it was little end play so yes it does !!

Well to be fair it was on two different yb's, nothing else had wear aprt from teh little end, had those replaced and all was well. Well one was ok the other span number 4 a couple of years after !! oh the joys

My engine sounds like a bag of old spanners from cold aswell, always has done but is fine once its got some temp in it, don't think its an issue so i say keep driving until something more drastic happens

I believe the criteria for re building an engine is oil consumption

Feel like an idiot, but I don't care One of the pulleys are echoing through the front end, so sounds like slap. So happy! Just gotta source whether its the crank or distributor pulley later today! WOOP!!!
