Clarkson wrote about it in Top Gear magazine this month and loved it aswell.. said it was a bit chavvy thou but thats what Ford RS's are all about

clarkson said it still has torque steer though and theres no way of hiding it with 300 bhp through the front wheels, what will they be like when modded to 350 or so? still might buy a white one in a few yrs

Sorry, but am i the only person who thinks its a load of fuss about very little? It doesn't have 4 wheel drive and wont handle as well as a car that does. Read the Sun motors pull-out today about it and they are billing it as a super car!?!? Any performance figures i've seen for it show slower times than the Esco, it still doesn't look as mean as the Esco and it doesn't have 4 wheel drive. Dont get me wrong, i do like the look and it sounds amazing, but IMO it seems all a bit ott. Like i said its just my opinion, so dont lynch me please.

The point is it is considerably better than anyone dared hope, EVO magazine are saying it makes 4x4 rally wannabe's pointless, I think it will run rings around our Escorts without trying , I think it will even make some new EVO's look bad

Don't forget we live in a country that rains 152 days a yr & thats only going to increase with global warming. Can't see it seeing off a 4x4 with the same power in the wet, but we'll have to see I guess. No point having all that power if you can't use it in all weathers.

I may be inclined to agree but for 1 thing. The Esco was built and sold 15+ years ago. 15+ years ago, they were awesome. The power of a standard Esco 15+ years ago would have been mind boggling for a normal punter. 15+ years on and the Focus RS isn't mind boggling. It has Revo-knuckle not 4 wheel drive, not because Revo-knuckle is better but probably because its cheaper. It looks the part and sounds the part but IMO falls short of what the Esco did 15+years ago.
