  • Replacement Shocks & Springs

    Howdy.....

Anyone have any recommendations for decent brands for replacement shocks & springs?
    For a 1995 Escort Cosworth.....

I don't believe new standard ones are available anymore so what is the next best thing - needs to be standard ride height.....want to keep it looking as original as possible.....

    Cheers

bilstein b6 dampers, and eibach springs...(that was what the Wolf cars had..) or some other spring, but bilstein dampers is The "best" road dampers...

You can't go wrong with either the Bilstein or Konis, but I'd go with Ahmed springs, as they lower the car by the correct amount (just 10mm on the front) to give the best ride / handling quality compromise.

The Konis are adjustable, but the Bilsteins aren't, so it is up to you if that is important. They are both suitable for the Ahmed springs .

Nordschleife, there's only two barriers to worry about - the ones on the left and the ones on the right .

I have heard some bad Things about konis the later years... many have bended them, rust away after few years+++ and bilsteins have always been "better" than konis(better than most on the road actualy)...

the price is because they are worth it... they are superior to most other, and have history to prove that... and they live long time, and can be rebuilded if broken... cost more to get crap, and then need to change again later... my opinion..

kyb and monroe are good old "oe style alternatives". they make allot for aftermarked, but those is more for normal cars in my opinion. OE was motorcraft, and OE on Wolf Cosworth`s was BILSTEIN...

Anyone know where is the best place to buy Bilstein - other than EBay....unless they are the cheapest?
There is also a cheaper Bilstein on Ebay...

What about springs - STD ride height - Eibach / PI / KYB / etc......

you need for cosworth, not Stock Escort like the last link... GGR is okay priced, maybe get a better price when get them all, and some springs if they have.

front is 149,95, and rear are 117,40 inc vat from ggr, and that is not bad price for them... a few £ up or Down dont make a huge difference...
