  • Wanted - Tips on Rear Beam restoration please.....

My rear beam is looking a state and I'd like to give it a freshen up.

Just looking for some tips on what to do and not do ie powder coating certain parts or painting etc.

I'm not looking for concourse as the car will be getting used and I'm not one for getting underneath to polish it after every drive

    Cheers Billy

If you shot blast and powdercoat then you'll have to remove all the bushes.
you can still shot blast it with the bushes in, and then id still use a good rust stop, probably brunox epoxy, then use a quality paint like a 2k black epoxy primer, 3 coats, it dries satin black just like the original finish and does a good job of filling small scrathes, rust pitting etc, and requires no top coat.. Just make a decent job of the masking around the bushes.

I've got new power flex bushes for it.

Think I'm gunna blast the beam and arms then powder coat. Same as the drive shafts and anti roll bar. Can you still get drop links new?

Refurb the brakes and need to find somewhere that can anodise??

What should I do with all the bolts?

Don't use the power flex bushes in the arms.
                Thanks Mark.
