  • Fitting a hart / auto specialist inlet manifold

Still slowly putting my car back together with its rebuilt engine, and seem to keep hitting little problems .

New engine has an auto specialists inlet manifold. First problem is I assume I'm going to need to get the outlet pipe on my airtec rs500 intercooler shortened, as it current only leaves a couple of cm gap to the throttle body and they don't quite line up. Anyone know how much I should shorten it (want to fit a dump valve in the silicone hose joining these two), and anywhere in the south east that can do this?

Second problem is the return pipe on the power steering bottle now fouls the throttle linkage on the throttle body. How have others worked around this one?

    Thanks
    Dave

I shortened the hose on my power steering and also relocated it further away so there was enough clearance shorten the intercooler pipe as much as needed fella just need to work out how much to take off when holding the dump valve hose over it

Thanks Rich. A lot of your problems seemed to be the pas pump location on a 3 door - at least I haven't got that problem.

Spoke to Dave earlier - pas bottle now sorted (bracket rotated anti-clockwise a bit and moved up against the washer bottle filler neck). The intercooler I'm going to have to cut the outlet off, shorten / angle it better and get it welded back on again. Need to buy a new hacksaw blade first though as mine are all blunt.

Strangely, I don't seem to have the issue with the plenum hitting the brake pipes - don't know if the distribution block is in a slightly different position on the escos
