    Ok so I know you can get stuff electrostatically (spelling ?) plated in gold & silver but what about black

    Or do you just give bolts etc a light dusting of primer & satin black single or 2 pack

          Surely a factory OEM black bolt for instance is plated the black finish seems too thin to be paint I reckon

            12.9 bolts are always black but are not plaited, process of getting them black from factory is called browning (i hope it is a right term) but it doesn't protect them.
            you can plate them black, same as silver or gold
            here is the sample, bolts are plated black and washers silver, maybe the bolts you are referring are also plated black

              them washers are they are for 4wd or 2wd shafts

                You can get them plated with black phosphate but I don't know anywhere that does it Darren
