  • Ford Alarm and Immobilizer Question

I was after some peoples opinions on the best option for my car.

I recently had one set of keys stolen for my Escort Cosworth. I had the Clifford alarm changed the next day and the old key fobs removed from the system.

My question is, I still have the original ford red chip key with immobilizer. I have a brand new lock set from Ford but these key are not the red chip keys.

What are my best options? Am i best removing the standard Ford immobilizer? and just having the Clifford G5?

Or would i be able to get keys re cut and re coded to the Ford immobilizer? Id have to change all the locks anyway as someone still has a key to open the car.

Money is not a problem as I've had to claim on my house insurance as also my Fiancee ring was stolen at the same time.

    Thanks
    Mike

if you took the chip out of the red key that currently works and left it next to the pats or like some transits and escort vans i have seen taped to it,you could use any ford lock or screwdriver to start it.
so in theory you buy a new lock set and take the chip out of yer red key and stick it in the new red key

oh yeh and if i found the cunts i'd get My Arse to chisel there bits off

The only key i'm left with is completely red. The person that stole my key is the red chip key.

The new lock set i have are not chipped keys.

Ive seen before in one of my old Rs2000 the key taped to the immobilizer.. Always thought that was a bit gash tho

you bought the wrong new key then, you should of bought one that the chip out of the red key could be fitted to.like this.......... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-ESCOR...#ht_2094wt_721

before you butcher your red key you may be able to recut your old master red key to the numbers of your new lockset, either way though with a new pats key cut to the new lockset and coded to the old master key i don't think you will have any trouble doing the bizzo
