  • Who has Black Art Design Coilovsrs?

Mine came last week, tonight I unwrapped them ready to fit at weekend.

I was wondering if anyone who had them could give me a rough measurement so I can set the ride height roughly prior to fitting

Only person I could think of is Iain.

And the dampening knobs. What click is it on please?

    Thanks in advance

See yours have gold adjusters mines are red.... I would mate but iv had mine off the car sitting on the shelf and I think someone has been screwing the shit out of them cause my car is now sitting all over the place took my ages to set it before too... Shaun's probable the top culprit!

Your the main man graham. Thank you, it's let me know where from and too and I'll work it out.

Thanks for the reply Iain. Are the easy to set up with the adjusters?

Each corner will probably need setting individual Andy tbh.... I did mine all the same height then kept adjusting on the ramp then when happy drove for a week then reset them again and that's where they've been ever since...

They weren't to bad just the hassle of taking it out for a drive the jacking up the front to adjust them it took me prob a whole afternoon before I was happy...I had mine driving very nice and sitting well, I'd like to get my suspension setup properly and corner weighted tho at some point

Cheers Adam. I'll need to get it up & running first but hopefully not long now.

Cheers Iain. They are my first coilovers as in the past I never had the patience to fuck about setting stuff up.

I've got used to working on Land Rovers now. Agricultural engineering is so much easier.

Pm mike Andy or loaders just set his up from BAD but as said when you get a chance you really want the car corner weighted... Jako's cars going to pro alloy soon so will Have some space, he's set my car up a few times... Night and day good shocks setup right you going to love them what spring rates did you go fit out of interest?

What car has jacko got now?

Yeah it's something I'll look into once it's back on the road, with regards to springs, I'm not 100% as mike species them for me, but will be sure to ask him. He recommended the helper springs so I can do jumps (general lee style according to mike)

                          @ jumps

When I had my the mallard I measured from the bottom of the wing arches to the floor just can't remember what the settings was will be fine for now but as said proper corner weight will be better...

Dave's got a exige with audi lump in it now... Few pics on my restro if your interested we just painted it

                            Andy,
The Grp A manual is saved somewhere on the site - use the ride height settings from that (for 18" wheels).

Do NOT measure from the arches, you measure from the suspension points shown. It needs to be a slight rake forward (from memory it is 10mm higher at the rear).

I'll search for the manual unless you have it as a favourite please mike?

Thank you. P.s can you tell me what pound springs I've got?

                              Cheers
