  • Any one had a focus st-3?

    Evening guys,
Need a new car with ISOFIX back seats as the wife is struggling with freelander rear seat belts as they are quite short.
Was thinking Golf gti pref dsg or a focus st3.
Being honest the golf looks a better buy as better mpg, auto option and bigger boot but I'm keeping my options open.
Anyone know what the st 3 is really like on fuel/ what it's like as a daily driver etc.
    Looking around a 57 plate.
    Cheers for any info

Thanks paul, may sit tight and wait for a px gti to come through a friends dealership then, 30-35 mpg is acceptable as that's about what the td4 freelander does

ive got an 08 plate st2, in standard form they are good for around 25mpg,and its for sale shortly lol,if you do get one go for the 08 onwards facelift version they look loads better and are a fantastic car ,just that they have always been overshadowed by the rs version

tax is £285 karl,i seriously recommend the st to anybody,if you can live with the fuel consumption its a great car, lovely to drive and even in standard guise its fast and sounds georgous with the 5 pot, once its remapped then its amazing
mine also benefits from satnav/bluetooth/usb/auto wipers/lamps/mirror/voice control etc so i love them

I have a 06 st,I use it as a daily runner have to say there a good car with a nice spec and i find it easy to drive and have two baby seats in the back for my wee ones, but fuel consumption does bother some mine does 26 mpg at the most this on motorway and easy driving but hits the low twenty's on anything hard but i can put up with it ,but road tax over here is €1400 ie £1130 a year
