  • Cam Cover Refurb - Definitive Answer

    Hello Chaps

As the Cossie is not hitting the tarmac this year i'm trying to just get all the little jobs done instead!
I have read with interest a few threads about cam cover refurb and who does what, but no one ever seems to come to a conclusion.

I have seen the following offer the service :

    SCS
    Tremona
    Mark Barber

I'm after a standard look and if anything perhaps slightly more shiney as my car is not concourse or orginal.

Has anyone got any comments, suggestions?

    Cheers

I've got a refurbed rocker cover that mark barber did and it looks spot on.

I've seen tremona's ones too and they look spot on.

Speak to CossieTrev on here as his done one recently that turned out awesome (He is a painter by trade). He sands the polished part by hand too.

someone show me one restored to oe and still got the fly cut effect on it,if its not as cosworth intended i wouldn't want it on my yb tbh so mines original as per it left cosworth just missing a slight bit of paint.

I agree, if I was staying all orginal then the original mill marks do look great.
However, my car has a few mild mods and i'm not fussed about 100% historical accuracy, just want a nice clean cam cover in the correct blue colour!

The orange one does look cool! So how much did it cost???

When I had mine refurbed at Tremona garage Richard said he tried to replicate the finish you've mentioned not sure if its oe looking but not bad at all

Thought I had better close up pics but cant find any but it gives you an idea of Tremona's finish

Have a look at my resto thread, I blasted my cover at work and had it powder coated at a place on the industrial estate off the barton cutin, not exactly the same colour as original but still looks good imo.
