  • Car dealer Advice

I just bought a Audi A3 from a dealer , paid more than I wanted but the car was mint .

Decided to give it a good clean over the weekend and took the wheels off to find both rear tyres bald with cord showing on the inner edges , note they are only like this on the inner edge so very hard to see

Been back and the dealer is a total joke , this must be covered via trading standards as they are unsafe and unfit for use .

Any one have any advice it would be welcome

    Thanks Paul

if your polite about it they are more likely to play nice tbh i'd ask for a contribution for a pair of cheepy nakangs etc not goodyear eagles, explain your not happy from a safety standpoint & if that dont work i would contact trading standards if they fob yer off,i would tell the dealer your happy etc with the car just not the tyres so come on help yer out.

The car should not of been released from the garage if the tyres were in that condition. The garage is liable to ensure the car is fit for purpose.

Take it back as you also have the 30 days money back, if no joy speak to the manager. They should replace the tyres for you.

Was the car bought from a main dealer, if so they will replace them, if not then keep pushing as they would sold the car with it just having a service and this is not the case if the tyres are in this condition.

If they don't play ball and replace them I'd be parking that car outside their front gates with big signs in the windows stating to look at the state of the tyres on this vehicle that they sold as roadworthy...

Surely a dealer has to check car thoroughly before gets released even arnold shark has a 3mm tread depth if its below they will change them.i can't see a main dealer doing this as the reporcussions for them would mean it would not be worth it.was it a local independent? I think I would be straight down to garage and kick up f&@k mate especially if meant to had service or mot .
