I know what your saying, I think a '235' actually measures something like a 242!

You're getting confused with the 235/40x17, which won't fit on the back of a Sapphire without arch mods.

      The 235/40x18s fit on 8x18 ET15s with no clearance issues what-so-ever . I know, as I have a set .

The only issue is that on full lock they rub on the back arch depending which hand down you are, but then so do my 245/35x18s .

how the fuck do they touch the back arches? unless you have a prelude-escort and its rws?

or do you mean the back of the arch?

while you are being a pedantic bastard

            Neil,
I credited all Escort owners with the intelligence to know that only the front of an Escort steers and has the capability to go on "full lock" . Obviously I will (in future) ammend my statements to take into account thickos like you .
