  • where can i get my new prop shortened for my conversion?

    ive managed to get a prop today for my 2wheel drive conversion, i phone a company called dave something or other... and he wants £75+vat but he's never done one before so i'm not keen..

    also what need to be done to the prop?

      thanks mike do you happen to know what need to be done to it? i think its 60mm taken out of the back but i'm not sure...

        No idea, but I'll bet they have done it before - drop them a line .

          ok mike ive just pm'd him, mike what diff did you run on your old 2wd we were taking about what power did you have a could you lanch it?

            2wd is all one piece so you need to cut 60mm out the rear section.

            Its a trolley ...its a shopping trolley (you know, with the spastic front wheel!!)

                Agreed but its still one unit, so make sure they cut out the right end

                      I ran a Quaife ATB, but if you are going to do LOTS of lauching, you need either a Ford Motorsport 9" or a Jag diff (like Rod's). The reason being, that although the Quaife gets rid of the pants OE planet gears (which shit themselves regularly above 400bhp with standing starts), it still uses the OE CWP, which WILL break eventually (just not as readily as the planet gears).

                          Dom, I have made a few calls, I can get this done for £30+ VAT, might be a bit more, but £30 is what I have been quoted, so if I can help you out let me know Might be able to arrange and exchange prop if you want, save you posting yours up
